Keith Richards é convidado no novo álbum de Tom Waits, «Bad As Me».
Em entrevista à Pitchfork, o autor revelou que tudo partiu de uma conversa com a editora. «Queres convidados?», ao que Waits respondeu «que tal o Keith Richards?».
«Eu estava a brincar mas alguém levou a ideia avante e ligou-lhe», revelou Tom Waits. Quando soube da resposta afirmativa, o comentário não podia ser mais irónico: «estamos numa alhada».
«Eu estava nervoso. Ele trouxe um camião com 600 guitarras (…) Estávamos num estúdio gigante em Nova Iorque onde costumam gravar orquestra e nós com apenas cinco tipos. Foi estranho. Ele matou-me. Fiquei siderado por ele tocar aquelas coisas todas», comentou.
Sobre o novo álbum, revelado online esta semana, Tom Waits assumiu ter sido «fácil de construir». Para o autor, as canções «são pequenas e modulares».
